YO!
Sharing some thoughts (and the video) that address two of the most asked questions I get on coaching calls
First, what are some of the tasks you perform during your CEO time?
Second, how transparent are you in sharing the numbers with your team?
One of the things I love to do with my CEO time (which should be broken up into deep work and shallow work blocks . . . but that is a discussion for another day) is to pour over the P/L report and subsequent scorecards that we put together. Each line item tells a story. Each line of data helps me determine what questions need to be asked and ends up being great jumping-off points for my leads to help us manage their meetings.
All in an effort to increase revenue, decrease costs, and share the profits with the team.
This studying and analyzing of the data leads to the next point…transparency with numbers.
THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER HERE. YOU DO YOU!
We talk about this in depth with my second caller on this episode of the Dental Light House Podcast.
As you will see from the video, you cannot be any more naked and transparent with the way we share numbers. We “bonus” based on profits so we want the entire team to know what the profitability of the business is and where they can help either lower expenses, increase production or both.
We have office goals of 15% profitability. Anything over 15% we share half with the team.
Its a system I was exposed to after spending a week with Dave Ramsey at a business masterclass, and so far its served us well.
I firmly believe that if you empower team members and treat them as owners, many (not all, but many) will start to have an ownership mindset and bring their MINDS AND IDEAS to work, not just their hands.
If this is a pain point for you, reach out.
With a shit ton of love,
Jason
